Kathmandu, Nepal | Nepal’s international taekwondo referee Rakesh Yadav is officiating at the prestigious Mount Everest Taekwondo Championship 2026 (G1), a World Taekwondo–recognized world ranking event.it will be conducted untill February 18, 2026. It has been started from yesterday (February 16)
Rakesh Yadav, who is also an employee of Agricultural Development Bank Limited, has been actively involved in the banking sector alongside his continuous contribution to sports. His journey and success in the field of taekwondo have become a source of inspiration for young athletes, who view him as a role model for balancing professional life and sports dedication.
Originally from Omsatiya Rural Municipality, Rupandehi, Yadav has been actively engaged in taekwondo since 1999 AD. He has served as a coach for several years and has participated in numerous national and international taekwondo competitions in different capacities. Since 2024, he has been regularly officiating as an international referee (kyorugi) in global taekwondo events.
In Bhairahawa, Yadav is also actively involved in the operation of a Creative Taekwondo Dojang, contributing significantly to the development of grassroots taekwondo in Nepal. His dedication has played an important role in nurturing young talents and strengthening the foundation of taekwondo in the region.
Sports communities and taekwondo practitioners across Nepal have expressed pride and happiness over Yadav’s selection as an official for a G1 world ranking event. His achievement is considered a milestone not only for Rupandehi district but for Nepali taekwondo as a whole.
The Mount Everest Taekwondo Championship 2026 (G1) is expected to bring together top-ranked athletes from various countries, further enhancing Nepal’s international sporting image.
